Original homepage hasn't been updated in a while and
there is no link to Github project page from there,
only to Sourceforge one.

Upstream has moved development to Github, but claims to continue release
tarballs at Sourceforge as well.
Fetch tarballs from Github to avoid any potential delays/problems.

Quote from the project page on Sourceforge ([0]):
As of Nov 9, 2015 the CVS hosted by Sourceforge will no longer be
updated. The last version to be uploaded into the CVS was version 0.7.9.
I've moved the development files to Git and they are accessible at:
https://github.com/dvehrs/podget

This commit represents a new era for Gentoo:
Storing the gentoo-x86 tree in Git, as converted from CVS.
This commit is the start of the NEW history.
Any historical data is intended to be grafted onto this point.
Creation process:
1. Take final CVS checkout snapshot
2. Remove ALL ChangeLog* files
3. Transform all Manifests to thin
4. Remove empty Manifests
5. Convert all stale $Header$/$Id$ CVS keywords to non-expanded Git $Id$
5.1. Do not touch files with -kb/-ko keyword flags.
